Round 5 Kichiro Sen fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Bruce. Kichiro places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Bruce Young attempts a takedown from the clinch, but Kichiro pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. A lazy leg kick from Young is caught by Sen who lands a huge overhand right, flooring Young. "too much heart" attempts to drop a fist on Young, but misses and lands in his guard. Kichiro sits up in "Boom Sticks" open guard and spins to an leg lock. Bruce Young is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. Kichiro Sen stuffs a shot from Bruce Young and hits him with a hard hook to the temple and pushes him to take his guard. Bruce attempts an armbar. Kichiro time a spin perfectly landing a strong overhand as he works his way into Bruces guard. Sen takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Youngs guard. It doesn't pay off as Young makes his way to standing. Round 5 comes to a close.
