Round 1 The fighters circle each other. Shane snaps back the head of Candido with a stiff jab. Candido parries a jab but is hit with a powerful knee to that midsection that drops him to the floor. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Shane Scott works the clinch to his advantage, carefully connecting with precise strikes. Shane grabs the plum and lands several knees to the legs Candido. The fighters circle each other. "O" takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Candido Costa eats a stiff kick to the face. Costa attempts a takedown but slips, and "O" backs away. "O" is standing over Costa. Shane lays into Candidos thighs and then backs off and tells him to stand up. Candido does so. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Candido circles Scott, mixing jabs and leg kicks. Candido takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. Shane throws a wild punch, putting him off balance. A few well timed strikes from Candido Costa puts Shane on the mat giving his back up. Candido attempts to lock in a rear naked choke, but Scott rolls into to mount to cleverly avoid it. Candido Costa secures his position. "O" gives his back up trying to escape the mount. The round comes to an end.
