Round 1 Marcos Oliveira narrowly dodges a cross from Will, but falls catching him in his guard. "Deathtrap" connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. Russell takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in "Deathtraps" guard. It doesn't pay off as "Deathtrap" makes his way to standing. The fighters circle each other. Will Russell snaps back the head of Marcos with a stiff jab. Will Russell rushes in grabbing an overhook. He then shoots his opposite arm beneath the overhook, falls back and tumbles, cartwheeling Oliveira through the air with a beautiful japanese whizzer and takes side control. Will Russell lands a few stiff elbows from side control. A series of strong hammerfists forces Marcos Oliveira to roll over, giving up his back. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Russell wraps around "Deathtraps" waist, and drags him to his back, taking side control Will slides his knee across the body of Oliveira and takes full mount. Marcos Oliveira attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Oliveira gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Will tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Oliveira starts to wiggle out of back control, Russell lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Round 2 is over.
Round 3 Oliveira circles Will Russell, mixing jabs with body shots. "Deathtrap" connects with a strong right hook. Will Russell lands a strong outside leg kick that is returned by Marcos. "Deathtrap" grabs for a clinch but Will grazes him with an uppercut. "Deathtrap" staggers back, then surprises Will with a powerful superman punch. A shot catches "Deathtrap" off balance and off guard. Will grabs him by the waist, lifts him, swings him through and slams in onto the ground. "Deathtrap" scrambles well and works to guard. Round 3 comes to a close.
