Chikanatsu winds up a heavy straight but is countered by a hard counter knee to the body. Round 1 is finished.
Round 2 Nelson is rocked by a standing elbow strike. Sonny keeps Noboyuki Chikanatsu at a distance with some well timed jabs. Noboyuki Chikanatsu lands a strong outside leg kick that is returned by Sonny Nelson. Noboyuki lands a jab, but it is returned by a sick uppercut from Sonny Nelson. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Nelson dodges a jab and lands a kick to the face of Chikanatsu. Nelson throws a combination of punches ducking and feinting return shots. Nelson smiling with his hands down as he shuffles in and out. A welt begins to form under Noboyuki Chikanatsus eye after a strong cross-hook landed from Sonny Nelson. A left high kick from Nelson keeps Noboyuki Chikanatsu at bay. Sonny Nelson lands a solid kick to the front leg of Noboyuki Chikanatsu. Chikanatsu takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. A wild hook from Chikanatsu is ducked by Sonny Nelson who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. A jab from Noboyuki is blocked and a cross is returned by Sonny. Nelson keeps Noboyuki at a distance with some well timed jabs. Sonny hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Round 3 comes to a close.
