Round 1
Jean connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. A single-leg attempt is well defended by Jean. "The Pretzel" stands up, lifting the leg of Jean and executing a trip takedown. Jean Cannon is almost caught in a omoplata but is able to work his way back to guard. "The Pretzel" distracts Jean with some peppering shots. "The Pretzel" then isolates a leg and falls back into a achilles lock. Jean is able to force his way out of it but gives up half guard in the ensuing scramble. Jean holds the head of Ekkehardt close to avoid shots. Ekkehardt slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. "The Pretzel" slams his knee into Jean Cannons ribs. Cannon is able to work a leg through from the bottom to attain full guard. Round 1 comes to a close.

Round 2
"The Pretzel" connects with a hard punch making Jean bring him in to a tight clinch. Ekkehardt places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Ekkehardt takes Cannons back standing. Jean isolates an arm to lock a spinning kimura but Ekkehardt lands a sharp shovel punch that forces Jean to release. Ritzel connects with a combination and backs away from the counter combo of Jean Cannon. The fighters circle each other. Jean Cannon takes a heavy kick to the arm attempting to block his head. A lazy leg kick from Cannon is caught by Ekkehardt Ritzel who lands a huge overhand right, flooring Cannon. Ekkehardt Ritzel drops a huge strike to Jeans chin, landing into his guard. The round comes to an end.

Round 3
The fighters circle one another hopping in and out trying to find their range. Ekkehardt Ritzel catches a leg kick from Jean Cannon, and puts him on the mat. Ekkehardt attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Jean slips out of it at the last moment. Ekkehardt pushes down Jeans leg, allowing him to pass guard into half guard. Ritzel attempts to sink a neck crank from half guard. It does not appear to be tight enough as Cannon gives a thumbs up to the referee until he finally struggles out. Cannon holds the head of Ekkehardt close to avoid shots. Ekkehardt slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. Cannon tries to scramble out of half guard, but Ekkehardt takes his back during it. The round comes to an end.
