After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Both fighters jockeying in the clinch. Lorenzo Marchetti grabs an arm of Sergio turns and dumps him over his body with a Seoi Nage. Lorenzo Marchetti drops into side control. Marchetti lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Sergio sneaks a leg back under the body of Lorenzo Marchetti to achieve a defensive half guard. Marchetti is able to slip into mount from the half guard. Sergio Valdez gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Valdez tries to explode out the backdoor but Marchetti sinks in both hooks, continually landing outside strikes. Valdez falls flat to protect himself. Sergio Valdez rolls to his back and turtles up. Lorenzo releases hooks and steps off to the side and immediately hooks an arm with his leg. Lorenzo grabs his opponents opposite arms and somersaults forward into crucifix position and applies a choke. Sergio Valdez struggles to break free but the ref jumps in and saves him.
