Round 1
"The Real Deal" lands a strong outside leg kick that is returned by Richard Renaud. Mark lands a strong outside leg kick and follows it up with a jab-cross combo. Mark Whelan throws a hard leg kick but is checked by "Cookie Monster". "Cookie Monster" is leading with his head during his combos and Whelan makes him pay by landing a lead knee to the jaw. "Cookie Monster" shakes it off as he steps back. "The Real Deal" snaps back the head of Richard Renaud with a stiff jab. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.

Round 2
Richard hits a hook to the body and follows with a power straight that misses. Mark fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Richard. Whelan connects with a stiff knee to the chin. Richard is dazed on the mat. Mark Whelan cannot find an opening to pounce. The ref brings Richard back to his feet. "Cookie Monster" is staggered by a jab to the chin. Whelan connects with a hard punch making Richard Renaud bring him in to a tight clinch. A stiff elbow looks to have Renaud dazed. A strong elbow forces Richard Renaud to lose his balance and fall to the floor. Round 2 comes to a close.

Round 3
Richard Renaud eats a stiff kick to the face. Mark Whelan lands multiple inside leg kicks that have Richard Renaud circling away. Mark Whelan connects with a hard punch making Richard bring him in to a tight clinch. Mark grabs the plum and lands several knees to the legs Richard Renaud. A lazy leg kick from Richard Renaud is caught by "The Real Deal" who lands a huge overhand right, flooring Richard Renaud. Mark kicks at the thighs of "Cookie Monster". The round comes to an end.

Round 4
A wild hook from Whelan is ducked by Renaud who lands a cross-hook to the body before backing away. "Cookie Monster" connects with a leg kick then a hook to the side of the head. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Whelan grabs the plum and lands several knees to the legs Richard Renaud. Mark narrowly dodges a cross from Richard, but falls catching him in his guard. Richard sits up in Marks open guard and spins to an leg lock. Mark is able to gator-roll out of it and make it to standing. Richard narrowly dodges a cross from Mark Whelan, but falls catching him in his guard. "Cookie Monster" sets in an omaplata, forcing Whelan to roll through, giving "Cookie Monster" side control. Renaud lands a few stiff elbows from side control. A knee to belly allows Mark Whelan to twist from his back, pulling Richard off balance. Mark Whelan then switches him to guard and stands up. Mark Whelan allows Richard to stand. The round comes to an end.

Round 5
"Cookie Monster" connects with a hard punch making Whelan bring him in to a tight clinch. "Cookie Monster" works the clinch to his advantage, carefully connecting with precise strikes. Renaud decides to abandon the clinch by pulling guard and bringing "The Real Deal" with him. Richard Renaud connects with some unorthodox punches from the bottom position. "Cookie Monster" locks a triangle but Whelan defends well. "Cookie Monster" decides to let go of the hold. Mark is pulled close and is hit with a couple of strong heel strikes to the back. "Cookie Monster" is pummeled by some well timed bombs from Mark. The bell signals the end of round 5.
