Round 1 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Lance Jones places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Lance dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Andreas Petersen standing over him. Petersen drops a huge strike to "CM Punks" chin, landing into his guard. While caught in Joness guard, Andreas Petersen gets hit with a vicious elbow. Andreas attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Jones slips out of it at the last moment. While caught in "CM Punks" guard, Andreas gets hit with a vicious elbow. While caught in Joness guard, Petersen gets hit with a vicious elbow. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 Lance Jones works "Alpha" into the cage, swimming for double underhooks. Lance Jones presses his head into Andreas Petersens chest, forcing him to the ground. Petersen connects with several chop shots from the bottom. Andreas attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. "CM Punk" lands a strong outside leg kick but is hit with a strong uppercut. Andreas connects with a hard jab as Lance attempts a wide outside hook. "CM Punk" locks around the waist of "Alpha". He sneaks his foot behind Andreass and trips him to the floor, taking side control. Lance lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Jones postures up and lands a couple of strong elbows to the head of Petersen. Petersen rolls away from Jones but Jones follows him and takes his back. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 Jones lands a strong outside leg kick but is hit with a strong uppercut. A welt begins to form under Lances eye after a strong cross-hook landed from "Alpha". "CM Punk" tries to hyperextend the knee of "Alpha" with a kick to the kneecap. "Alpha" hops back to avoid it. "Alpha" throws a cross that easily dodged by Lance. A shot from Lance Jones is countered by a guillotine from Andreas. Lance Jones follows through with a slam, landing in side mount, nullifying the choke. The round comes to an end.
