This idea has been thrown around for awhile now and it's something that is easy to implement. An auto scheduler will cause title fights to run automatically every reset so no shots will be missed, given to the wrong contender, etc. There will be a period where you are able to set your styles for upcoming title fights similar to how tournaments function now. If you aren't around to set your styles the fight will still happen.
This will effectively put an end to all title fight drama by creating standardized criteria for selecting #1 contenders.
The only thing that needs to be figured out is what that criteria will be and that's where all of you come in.
Most of us use the same title defense criteria already but there are always outliers/non-forum coaches and coaches who differ slightly from each other in their approach so we need to come to an agreement on how the auto scheduler should decide title shots.
Here is an example of what I mean. We could use this or create a new version of it:
Defense Criteria (in order of importance):
*Next criteria will only be looked at if there is a tie in current criteria.
1. Longest streak in current org. (with an increase of fighters sitting on streaks, obvious sitters will be skipped)
2. Previous reset not missed.
3. Who has less resets missed in current streak.
4. Who has beaten more unique fighters in current streak.
5. Who has more wins in current weight division within streak.
6. Who has highest avg rank of opponents beat in streak.
7. Who is ranked higher.
Other Cases
- if #1 contender has not accepted shot with 1hr-30min left in reset, next available contender will be sent title shot as well.
- if shot is still not accepted with <30min left, shot will be sent to all available fighters
- if I miss a reset as champ, the following reset will still follow above criteria to avoid inconsistency (if someone puts me on their blacklist cause of this I don't really care, probably missed the reset cause of life)
Basically every reset is a fresh start and I will start from the beginning of my defense criteria for title shots.
Post what you would like to see and let's get this hashed out.
