**THE SPOTLIGHT**Gesrel "PePe Le Un" De Villiers Current Record: 14-7
Today we shift our spotlight back to one of the serious contenders of the tournament, Gesrel "PePe Le Un" De Villiers. Though Gesrel was born in America, his parents (both french born) immigrated to America the year before he was born. Gesrel was a child of two worlds, and grew up speaking 3 different languages. He was, and is incredibly bright. He is in a very select group of fighter competing in MMA, that are also in pursuit of a Masters Degree.
De Villiers catches a lot of flak from male fans of the sport for his french accent, and supposed "pretty-boy" good looks. The truth is that he is extremely shy, and remarkably tentative. Ultra-passive in nature, it shines through especially in his fighting style, as he is a counter puncher if there ever was one. He's done a lot of work to round out his game, but much like his love life, he's always waiting for them to make the first move. Though he has a few KO's on his record, they are purely from skill as he possesses little power. Luckily, he is a master at out-pointing his opponents.
